Athletics: Mondo Duplantis (SWE) through to men’s pole vault final

Two-time world champion, Tokyo 2020 gold medallist and men’s pole vault record holder Duplantis sailed over the 5.75 mark to easily qualify for the men’s final along with 11 others. 

Shockingly, Tokyo silver medallist Chris Nilsen of USA only managed to clear 5.40 and will not be in the final.

The final will be contested on Monday, and Duplantis is the big favourite.
