Athletics: Ryan Crouser completes shot-put three-peat
Over in the shot put, Joe Kovacs just moved himself from fourth up to second with his final throw! 22.15m is the same as Jamaica’s Rajindra Campbell managed earlier, but Kovacs has a better second-longest throw.
Kovacs’s U.S. teammate Payton Otterdahl was pushed into fourth by that, but his final attempt is 22.03m and won’t be enough!
So just Campbell and Ryan Crouser left to throw.
Here’s the Jamaican, who has the entire stadium cheering for him! But he fouls the last throw so Ryan Crouser has won his third gold medal in a row!
He becomes the first athlete, man or woman, to win three golds in the shot put. And he deservingly gets a massive cheer ahead of his final throw.
He’s going around and shaking everyone’s hand – including the officials. It looks like he is retiring from the final throw.
