Gudaf Tsegay of Team Ethiopia leads the group during the Women’s 1500m Round 1

Athletics: Morning session underway

Over at the Stade de France, the first round of the women’s 1500m has kicked off proceedings in the athletics for the morning session.

Defending Olympic champion and world record holder Faith Kipyegon (KEN) – who picked up silver in the women’s 5000m last night – is safely through to the semi-finals after finishing fourth in her heat.

2023 10,000m world champion Gudaf Tsegay (ETH) has the top time of 3:58.84 with one heat to go.
