Athletics: Two heptathlon events left following long jump
We had a big round of oooos at the Stade de France after Martha Araujo (COL) soared through the air to land a 6.61m jump – a personal best for the Colombian and more than enough to get maximum points for the event.
That pushes her into 7th place, but it’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson (GBR) who leads – just – ahead of two-time defending Olympic champion Nafi Thiam (BEL). The reigning world champion finished 5th in the long jump, with Thiam 3rd.
