Track cycling: World and Olympic records broken in women’s sprint qualifying
The crowd inside the National Velodrome are getting their money’s worth today, as the Olympic record for the women’s 200m flying start has been broken a staggering six times in sprint qualifying, with the world record also falling two times.
With the metaphorical flames from the athlete’s wheels now extinguished, it’s Lea Friedrich (GER) who leads the 24 fastest qualifiers into the next round with a top time of 10.029.
