Athletics: Kinzang Lhamo completes the marathon!
She’s done it!
There are incredible scenes here in the centre of Paris as Lhamo, the only female member of the Bhutan team and her nation’s flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony, is roared over the finish line by the crowd.
At certain points she was reduced to a walk, but the 26-year-old never gave up, and she does complete the women’s marathon in a time of of 3:52:59. A full hour-and-a-half after Hassan’s win, but a new PB for Lhamo!
What a moment in Olympic history we have just witnessed.
