Artistic gymnastics: Oka Shinnosuke lands men’s horizontal bar gold
Showing no signs of fatigue after winning parallel bars bronze just hours ago, Japan’s Oka Shinnosuke now has gold in the men’s horizontal bar thanks to his score of 14.533. It’s a fourth Olympic medal in Paris 2024 for Oka.
Silver goes to Angel Barajas, who wins Colombia’s first ever Olympic medal in gymnastics with 14.533. Oka placed higher on a tie-break, which was having the higher execution score for his routine.
Bronze goes to both Zhang Boheng of the People’s Republic of China, and Tang Chia-Hung, who scored 13.966. It’s an extra special one for Tang who is Chinese Taipei’s first ever medal winner in this event.
