Athletics: Femke Bol propels Netherlands to mixed relay gold

The first track final of the night is the mixed 4x400m relay – and we already saw a world record in heats from USA. Will we get a repeat tonight, despite the wet conditions?

France unsurprisingly get a big cheer, but watch out for Netherlands – who will have Femke Bol on the anchor leg.

"Allez les Bleus" rings around the stadium, but the crowd is going to have to quieten down for the start.

Off they go! The Dutch have a really strong start, and here come the USA for the first changeover!

USA lead at the changeover, with Belgium. Lieke Klaver for the Dutch has just absolutely destroyed whatever deficit she had and has caught the leaders!

But she’s tiring as they head to the second change! The USA lead from Belgium and Netherlands.

And here comes Great Britain on the third leg! Alex Haydock-Wilson has moved into third!

The final change is coming now – and Femke Bol immediately sets to work. She has a lot to do if she’s going to haul the Netherlands back into medal position.

Amber Anning for GB has surged into second! Still USA from Great Britain but here comes Femke Bol!

FEMKE BOL HAS DONE IT FROM FOURTH!

The Netherlands win gold! 3:07.43 for a European record! What a run!

USA silver in 3:07.74 and Great Britain with a new national record 3:08.01 for bronze.
