Athletics: Angelina Topic reaches women’s high jump final despite suffering early injury

We’ve had a wonderful show of perserverance and passion in the women’s high jump at the Stade de France.

Angelina Topic (SRB) appeared to injure her ankle early on in qualification, and had to have her foot heavily taped as she carried on. But the 19-year-old cleared 1.92m to qualify for the final, and burst into tears as she realised what she had accomplished.
