Bronze Medal winner Gabriel Medina of Brazil caught up with Olympics.com surf reporter Ash Tulloch after winning the Bronze. Joined by his father Charlie in Teahupo’o, the former World Champion was thrilled to get some Olympic redemption after his 4th place finish in Tokyo.

“I’m so happy to get the Bronze Medal. That was my goal coming here, to get a medal. In Tokyo I was really close and this year I had another chance and I just wanted it really bad so I gave my all in the semi-final. I’m really happy with it. I’m happy to make my family, my friends and all my country proud."
