Badminton: 2021 world champion Loh progresses

An update from the evening session at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena, where the last of the group stage games were taking place.

Women’s singles world champion An Seyoung from Republic of Korea scored an easy 21-5, 21-7 win over French home player Qi Xuefei to win her group.

And the men’s 2021 world champ Loh Kean Yew of Singapore has reached the last 16 for the first time, beating El Salvador’s Uriel Canjura.

But earlier in the day, Indonesia’s hopes in the men’s singles were ended with shock defeats for their two seeds, Jonatan Christie and Anthony Ginting.
