Rowing: Ireland win lightweight men’s double sculls gold!
Fintan McCarthy and Paul O’Donovan (IRL) are the masters of the lightweight men’s double sculls!
In addition to their three world titles, two European titles, and Tokyo 2020 gold medal, they are now Olympic champions once again at Paris 2024!
The Irish boat moved into first with 500m to go, and sailed through the finish line almost three seconds ahead of Stefano Oppo/Gabriel Soares (ITA) in second. It’s bronze for Greece (their first medal in this event since 2008) and Antonios Papakonstantinou/Petros Gkaidatzis.
