Rowing: Karolien Florijn (NED) wins women’s singles sculls gold!
A perfectly executed race from Florijn, who leads from start to finish as she claims gold by almost two seconds from Emma Twigg (NZL) in second.
It’s a second Olympic medal and a first gold for Florijn after winning silver in Tokyo as part of the Netherlands’ women’s four boat.
It’s the third time Twigg has finished second to Florijn in as many years after she won silver at the 2022 and 2023 world championships, though the New Zealander did win gold at Tokyo 2020.
There’s history for Viktorija Senkutė as she finishes third, winning Lithuania its first ever Olympic medal in rowing!
