Swimming: McIntosh breaks Olympic record to win women’s 200m fly

We’re straight on to the first final of the night in the pool, which is the women’s 200m fly.

Summer McIntosh and Regan Smith were the fastest qualifiers, but it’s defending champion Zhang Yufei who will turn in the lead at 50.

McIntosh is closing back up to the Chinese swimmer at halfway, with Smith still a bit further behind. Now McIntosh hits the front. And it’s a pretty big lead at 150.

Coming back for the final length, McIntosh might have a record in her sights! She has almost a full body length on the Smith who has moved into second!

It is gold for Summer McIntosh in a new Olympic record 2:03.03!

Smith second in 2:03.84, and Zhang wins bronze in 2:05.09.
