Taekwondo: Park Taejoon (KOR) wins men’s 58kg gold after opponent withdraws during second round
The 2022 world champion Park Taejoon is now an Olympic taekwondo champion aged just 20!
Park, representing the Republic of Korea, was utterly dominant in his men’s 58kg final against Azerbaijan’s Gashim Magomedov, taking the first round 9-0 and leading the second 13-1 when Magomedov withdrew.
Bronzes went to Mohamed Khalil Jendoubi of Tunisia and France’s Cyrian Ravet, who won by default after his Italian opponent pulled out of the contest due to injury.
