Tennis: Countdown to Djokovic (SRB) vs Alcaraz (ESP) in men’s singles gold medal match
It’s one of the big events of the day here in Paris: the men’s singles gold medal match between No.1 seed Novak Djokovic and 2024 French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz.
This is a true heavyweight matchup between the two tennis stars, with Alcaraz, aged 21, still in the early stages of his career. Djokovic, 37, has established himself as one of the greatest men’s tennis players in history, with a record 24 Grand Slam wins to his name.
But it was Alcaraz who won the French Open at Roland Garros earlier this year, and defeated the Serbian at the final of Wimbledon back in July.
Who will emerge victorious today?
The men’s final is scheduled to start following the conclusion of the women’s doubles bronze medal match, which has just started.
