Trampoline gymnastics: Bryony Page (GBR) wins women’s gold!
The two-time world champion and two-time Olympic medallist finally has her Olympic gold medal!
Page had to produce the performance of a lifetime after Viyaleta Bardzilouskaya (AIN) laid down a huge score of 56.060 to hold the gold medal position. But Page was up to the task, delivering a flawless routine that scored her 56.480 to edge in front.
With just one athlete to go, Page – second in Rio and third in Tokyo – faced a nervous wait as Hu Yicheng (CHN) took to the trampoline. But an error for the Chinese meant she had to abandon her routine, giving Page the win!
