Karsten Warholm clinched his third consecutive European title in the 400m hurdles with a commanding performance. Warholm, 28, established a clear lead in the back straight and maintained his power through the bend, finishing strongly despite the pressure from Italy’s Alessandro Sibilio.
Sibilio’s relentless challenge earned him a silver medal and a national record of 47.50 seconds. Sweden’s Carl Bengstrom claimed bronze with another national record of 47.94 seconds, while Estonia’s Rasmus Magi finished fourth with a season’s best of 48.13 seconds.
This victory is significant for Warholm as he prepares to face strong competition from Alison dos Santos of Brazil and Rai Benjamin of the United States, both of whom have posted faster times this season.
