Wrestling: Legend Mijaín López (CUB) wins fifth straight gold medal

The legendary Cuban wrestler Mijaín López has done it again.

Gold at Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and now, after not having competed since the last Olympic Games three years ago, at Paris 2024.

Five consecutive gold medals in the heaviest Greco-Roman weight class.

After beating his friend Yasmani Acosta, representing Chile, 6-0 with a victory on points, he removes his shoes and leaves them on the mat. He’s going out on top.

Bronzes went to Amin Mirzazadeh of Islamic Republic of Iran and Meng Lingzhe of People’s Republic of China.
